The Where
The lovely Nicole Whelan, from Boots Pharmacy, got in touch with me and asked me would I do a skincare demo for a fundraiser she was organising in The Mansion House, Waterford. 100% of the proceeds of the entire event was going to the Irish Cancer Society, an incredible charity that does much needed research. Nicole had a great line up for the night full of skincare, makeup, hair, health and nutrition!
The Organiser
The gorgeous Nicole Whelan, organised the whole event and I just want to say a huge well done to her. It’s not an easy thing to do and I know how much goes into it, Boots are lucky to have her. Nicole also does hair extensions and is taking bookings now. Nicole trained in hair extensions two years ago in Australia and has recently set up her own Facebook page => Xtend Waterford so make sure you give her a like. Nicole offers a variety of different services including Microrings, Clip ins, Prebonded Extensions and Semi Permanent Eyelash Extensions.
The Talks and Demo’s
I was up first with my skincare demo and I was proud to represent Re>Nu Treatment Rooms and The Tower Hotel, which is where I run my own beauty room. You can find my business page on Facebook here => Re>Nu Treatment Rooms I do everything from Indian Head and deep tissue massage to facials and body scrubs. On the night, I did a Tomitago Cosmetics Facial, which included a double cleanse, massage, exfoliation, mask, eye serum, serum and moisturiser. I spoke about each of the steps and explained the importance of each one. I chose to use Tomitago because it is 100% chemical free, certified organic and made not far from Waterford. The amount of chemicals we put into and onto our body on a daily basis is ridiculous and a portion of it does accumulate in the body. The chemicals in our food, cosmetics and even our toothpaste, can have a detrimental effect on our health, and this is why chemical free skincare appeals to me! if you would like to read more on Tomitago I have the whole face care range covered here => Brand Focus: Tomitago Cosmetics – Home of the 5-in-1 Miracle Elixir
Beautify by Rebecca Kennedy
Rebecca Kennedy was up next and she runs her own beauty room out in Dunmore East called, Beautify by Rebecca. She is a beauty therapist and make up artist and offers many beauty treatments to her clients including makeup, waxing, gel nails, shellac nails, tanning and facials. She is like a real life doll, so so friendly and really knows her stuff when it comes to makeup. She demonstrated for everybody a beautiful smokey eye look and shared with us her top tips. Rebecca used a range of different brands including No. 7 and Inglot. You can find Rebecca’s Facebook here => Beautify by Rebecca
Gina Ryan from Forever Living
Gina Ryan, is one of those women you can’t help but listen intently to. She gave us a little talk on how she started Forever Living and filled us in on all it’s nutritional benefits. She started her own Forever Living Business about 2 years ago and she has never looked back. She shared her story with us on how she was on several medications a day and she got to the point where she had enough of pumping herself with chemicals and was on the search for a more natural approach. It was on this journey she stumbled across Forever Living along her path. All Forever Living Products are based on the highest quality aloe vera and contain no nasty ingredients.
They have quite a large range and have everything from skincare and supplements to joint care and deodorants. Their roll on deodarant is one of their best sellers. It contains no aluminium salts, which is a HUGE PLUS because aluminium salts are directly linked with causing breast cancer in women. I can completely vouch for what she was saying about Forever Living, as I have been using their products for over a year now. I use their nutritional supplements to help me lose weight and then maintain what I’ve lost. I have done their most popular program, The C9, on many occasions now and last year Forever Living helped me lose 2 stone in 8 months. If you’d like to know how you can read it here => How I lost 2 stone in 8 months! If you love food and are always on the search for healthy dinner ideas, follow Gina on Snapchat “GinaLovesFood.”
Lyanne Hennessy from Beauty and the Brunette
Lyanne Hennessey is a qualified hairdresser who works in The Salon, George’s Court, Waterford. She is also a fellow blogger from Beauty and the Brunette, find her page on Facebook here => Beauty and the Brunette I’ve met Lyanne at lots of events and i always enjoy our chats. She is a really down to earth girl and is real easy to chat away to. Lyanne did a hair demo for us on the lovely Aoife ni Dhubhghaill, another fellow blogger from Fairly Fabulous, Facebook page => Fairly Fabulous
Lyanne did a bobble plait with ghd curls on one side and on the other side she used a Hot Tools Curl Bar 25mm , which gives you a perfect curl in 10 seconds, minimising the amount of time the extreme heat is on your hair and therefore minimising damage. It’s design is like no other curler I’ve ever seen and Lyanne explained how it’s design actually makes it much easier to curl your own hair. Lyanne gave a great tip for when you’re curling your hair and wanting them to blend in seamlessly…Every second curl change the direction of how your wrap it around the bar…Love it and definitely going to try!

Thank You
Huge thank you to Nicole Whelan and Boots Pharmacy for asking me to be part of this fundraising event for the Irish Cancer Society. I don’t know anybody who hasn’t been directly or indirectly affected by cancer, so the charity needs all the help it can get! I also want to say a huge thank you to Michelle Hanlon, who modelled for my demo…getting up in front of a crowd in a pub on a Saturday night with no makeup on and everyone staring at you, is by no means an easy thing to do…so thanks a million Michelle.
Hope you enjoyed this post! If you would like to donate to the Irish Cancer Society you can do that here => https://www.cancer.ie/get-involved/fundraise/how-to-donate
